View Funeral WebcastMrs. Addie B Scott Dickey, 84, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at her residence on Scott Hollow Road. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Church of Christ ministers Elmer Lusk and Bob Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday after 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Robertson Fork Church of Christ, c/o Wayne Pettus, 2365 Wright Road, Cornersville, TN 37047 or Columbia Academy, 1101 West Seventh Street, Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Hickman County native was the daughter of the late John A. Scott and Essie Mae Slaughter Scott of the Theta Community. On July 11, 1945 in Athens, Alabama, she married Wesley Sherman Dickey who preceded her in death on January 8, 1969. Mrs. Dickey attended Hickman County Schools. She was a longtime member of Eastside Church of Christ and currently a member of Robertson Fork Church of Christ at Cornersville. She worked for many years at StorkTowne and later worked for Guardsmark until her retirement. Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Edsinger of Culleoka; two sons, James (Judy) Dickey of Columbia; Jerry (Carol) Dickey of Culleoka; three sisters, Viola (Charlie) Burt of Columbia; Clara Mae (Leonard) Lancaster of Theta; Sara Helen Williams of Santa Fe; four grandchildren, Jessica (Jamie) Morgan, Andrew Kline Rogers, Jr., both of Culleoka; Jon M. Dickey of Columbia; Jason Wesley (Farrah) Dickey of Centerville; five great grandchildren, Addison Morgan, Hayden Morgan, Gavin Morgan, all of Culleoka; Blair Dickey and Bryce Old, both of Columbia; numerous nieces and nephews; special caregivers, Melissa Cannady, Andy Rogers and Steve Howland of Scott Hollow Road; special sister-in-law, Earle Dickey of Euless, Texas. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bertha Dee Stewart and Johnnie Ann McCrary; one half-sister, Elsie Baker; three brothers, Hardin Scott, Vernon Scott, Dallas Scott; and two half-brothers, Wilson Scott and Elmer Scott. Pallbearers will be Jason Dickey, Jon Dickey, Jamie Morgan, Billy Hanvy, Shane Davis, and Charlie Burt. Honorary pallbearers will be caregivers of Hospice Compassus of Columbia; and special friends, Rebecca McNeese, Sara McKelvey, Nola Benderman Martindale, Lorene Haywood; and elders of Robertson Fork Church of Christ.
