View Video Tribute Mrs. Martha Agnes Hinson Shouse, 79, resident of Meadowview Drive, entered her heavenly home on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Carl May and Jeff Thomason officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Williamson County native was the daughter of the late Sherman Neal Hinson and Lucille Beard Hinson. On September 2, 1954, she married Charles Edward "Buck" Shouse who preceded her in death on May 12, 2013. She enjoyed needlepoint and quilting. She was a member of Berea Church of Christ. Survivors include her sons, Dwight (Paulette Hood) Shouse of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jerry A. (Susan) Shouse of Clarksville; grandchildren, Brian E. Shouse and Amanda J. Smith, both of Cincinnati; Joey Shouse of Clarksville; six great grandchildren; sister, Esther (Rayburn) Grooms of Columbia; brother, Milton Hinson of Columbia; sister-in-law, Dorothy Shouse Beard of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amy M. Turner; one sister, Annie Lou Brown; and two brothers, William N. "Bud" Hinson and Larry Junior Hinson. Active pallbearers will be Brian Shouse, Rayburn Grooms, Joey Shouse, Bryce Smith, Tommy Beard, and Ronnie Huckaby. Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin & Lennie Collins, friends, neighbors, and members of Berea Church of Christ. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Rodney Poling and staff at Columbia Behavioral Health, Dr. Ben Gardner, Hope Webb, Dr. Reams Powers, Dr. Belinda Bart, Dr. Shawn Gentry, Comfort Keepers: Carrie, Carolyn, Kelly, Teresa, Kim, Charlene, Ursla; her nurse, Jamie; and private sitters, Tina Jones, Janet Seiber, Linda Webb, and Sonya Jones. Very appreciative of every act of kindness during her illness from her neighbors and friends, the family would like to especially thank Lynn Cetas for going above and beyond the call of duty to come to her aid so many times and in so many ways; for taking care of her pet parakeet and dog Roscoe that she loved so much.
