Alice Irene Landtroop, 86, retired seamstress and resident of Michigan City passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at The Arbors in Michigan City, Indiana.Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Johnny Thurman officiating. Burial will follow in Limestone County Memory Park in Athens, Alabama. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. On July 4, 1964 in Michigan City she married John T. Landtroop who passed away on July 1, 1998.Surviving are two daughters, Shirley (Carl) Sheets of Michigan City and Patricia (Greg) Cullison of Federal Heights, CO; one son, Ray (Jean) Thurman of Michigan City; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Nadine (Ernest) Watson of Columbia, TN, Vada (Ron) Richardson of Columbia, TN and Zada (Gene) Tomlin of Lewisburg, TN and many nieces and nephews in TN, TX, MI and IN.She is preceded in death by three sisters, Lois Adams, Christine Owens and Inez Thompson; and four brothers, Noah Jr., Edward, James and Bobby.
