View Funeral WebcastMrs. Allie Ray Hickman Compton Wise, 94, retired from E. I. DuPont Corporation and former resident of Columbia, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010 in Jacksonville, Florida where she made her home the past few years. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Thomas Vann and Rev. Jeff Jacob officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. Born and reared in the Lynnville Community, she was the daughter of the late Robert Luther Hickman and Maudy Lillian Pinkleton Hickman. She was a long-time member of Craft Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include her daughter, Judy (Randy) Cole of Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren, Jennifer (Jodie) Spencer, Wade (Kim) Reed, Christie (Dr. Jeff) Boruff, Stephanie (Mark) Dunn, Meagan (Craig) Heineman, and Meredith (Stephen) Barker; great-grandchildren, Landon Reed, Amanda Holt, Jesse Spencer, Cole Boruff, Caitlin Allie Boruff, Connor Boruff, Devyn Dunn, Dylan Dunn, and Porter Barker; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Zopher Compton July 1, 1980; her second husband, Malcolm Patterson "Pat" Wise August 22, 1989; a daughter, Sandra Gail Compton Reed in 2008; sisters, Estelle Sands, Catherine Ragan, and Mary Hickman; and brother, Vaden Hickman. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
