View Funeral WebcastMiss Almer Ree Tinsley, 90, retired baby-sitter and former resident of Brannon Court, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols with Bob Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Overton County native was the daughter of the late John Tinsley and Roxie Hutchison Tinsley. During WWII she worked as a welder at a shipyard in Mobile, Alabama. Miss Tinsley loved sewing and quilting. She was a member of Theta Church of Christ. Survivors include a sister, Martha Tinsley Thorn of Nashville; eight nieces, Peggy Beadle Crowell, Mary Lou Beadle Hill, Betty Beadle Morrow, Wanda Tinsley Pipkin, Debra Tinsley, Sherril Tinsley Walls, Joy Tinsley Lancaster and Frankie Tinsley Berry; nine nephews, Ernest Brady, Steve Brady, Roger Tinsley, Danny Tinsley, Gary Tinsley, Billy Tinsley, Phillip Tinsley, Ricky Tinsley, Ray Tinsley; and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Della Campbell, Cora Potts; five brothers, Bill Tinsley, Clarence Tinsley, John Tinsley, Earl Tinsley, David Tinsley; and one niece, Fay Beadle. Family members will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Theta Church of Christ. Special thanks to Dr. Cummins Couch and to the staff at NHC Hillview including Tish, Arita, Melissa, Tim, Jessie, Lynn, Teresa, Kim, Rosie, Shirley, Ashley, Janelle, Jo Ann, Janet, Karen Perry and Mr. Moore for considering Almer Tinsley like family.
