Amy Mae Ingram, 80, died Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Charlotte, North Carolina after a brief battle with cancer.

Amy was the youngest of four girls born to the late Dan Ingram and Anna Worth Butler Ingram. Amy was born in Culleoka, TN on September 30, 1944.

Amy was known not only for her beauty but for her kind heart, and her quick wit. She took great pride and enjoyment from her Yorkshire terriers Buddy, Bear, and Sadie Mae. Sadie was her constant companion in later life.

Amy was a collector of antiques and art and had an incredible natural talent as an interior decorator. Her home in Charlotte was her haven and a reflection of her impeccable taste in fine antiques and artwork. She was very talented at needlework and gifted many precious things that she made to those that she loved.

Amy moved from Hendersonville TN and lived in Charlotte after 1984. For a few years after Anna Ingram’s death in 2009, Amy moved from Charlotte and resided at Booker Place, the ancestral home of the Ingram family located near Culleoka, TN. She later returned to Charlotte, NC, where she lived until the time of her death.

Amy is survived by her sisters Barbara Barker (Emmett) and Linda Ingram, her children James Lee Spruill, Jr. (Annette) and Jennifer Hart (Tom), as well as her grandchildren Corey Spruill and Hunter Spruill and several nieces and nephews, (Melanie, Bethany, Dan, Stephanie, and Rob). Amy will always be in our hearts and greatly missed.
