View Funeral WebcastMr. Andrew Frierson "Andy" Harris, 85, retired employee of Union Carbide Corporation and former resident of Haven Circle, died Wednesday at Centennial Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P. M. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Aleridge and Rev. Frank Smith officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Andrew Curran Harris and Emma Pearl Joyce Harris. On April 19, 1947, he married Mary Frances Keen Harris who preceded him in death on September 6, 2001. Mr. Harris was a graduate of Culleoka High School and served in the U. S. Army from 1943 - 1945. He was a retired production superintendent with Union Carbide in Puerto Rico and Columbia. Mr. Harris was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Candy Murphy of Coral Springs, Florida; two sons, Drew Harris of Lincoln, Nebraska and Randy (Robin) Harris of Knoxville; a sister, Becky (Albert) Christian of Lexington, Kentucky; three granddaughters, Melissa Harris, Brittney Harris Harnack (Nick), and Katie Harris; five grandsons, Patrick Murphy, Scott Harris, Jordan Harris, Austin Harris, and Steven Harris; and a great granddaughter, Ella Grace Harris. He was preceded in death by one brother, John J. Harris and one sister, Frances Fredebeil. Pallbearers will be men of the church.
