Angie Smith Daimwood, 95, former long-time resident of Bear Creek Pike in Columbia, went home to be with her Lord on November 29, 2014 in Sevierville, Tennessee.The family will visit with friends Monday from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Daimwood family plot in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to West 7th Street Church of Christ, 415 West 7th Street, Columbia, TN 38401; Great Smoky Mt. Waiting for her in heaven were her mother and father, Thomas Ethan Smith, Sr. and Pearl McKee Smith, her beloved husband, Sam Daimwood, who died in 1969, her cherished daughter-in-law, Karen Duley Daimwood, and numerous brothers and sisters. Left behind to rejoice in her homecoming, but saddened by their loss, are her children, Phil Daimwood of Longwood, Florida and Lynn Daimwood Caylor and husband, Jimmy of Sevierville. She was dearly loved by her 6 grandchildren, Brandy Daimwood Bouchy, Dixie and Daisy Daimwood, Sam, Mack, and J.P. Caylor and 4 great- grandchildren, Saile, Micah, Xander, and Zoey. She is also survived by a brother, Thomas Ethan Smith, Jr. of Dickson.She was born and reared in Hickman County, one of 12 siblings, and was saved at age 15 at a revival at Little Lot Church of Christ and was baptized that Sunday in Lick Creek. She lived for 60 years in the home built by husband, Sam, on Bear Creek Pike. He was a house builder having touched many lives by building numerous homes in the Columbia area. Mrs. Daimwood was head cashier at 5 grocery stores in Columbia over the years. She was associated for 23 years with the H. G. Hill Store on West 7th Street. After her retirement, she volunteered at Maury Regional Hospital in the gift shop for 20 years and was known by all for her glowing SMILE and Godly spirit.She was a faithful member of West 7th Street Church of Christ for over 60 years where she taught Sunday School leading little ones to the Lord. She spent the last 7 years living close to her daughter, Lynn, in Sevierville. Lynn has been her unwavering caregiver when she could no longer care for herself. Neither disease nor death can conquer the LOVE she gave to her family!
