Ann Elizabeth Mesner Behrens

Ann Elizabeth Mesner Behrens, 99, retired bookkeeper for Augustana Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Randy Miller officiating. The body will be conveyed to Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Heights, Illinois for services and burial in Memory Gardens in Arlington Heights. A native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she was the daughter of the late Johann Maximillian Mesner and Anna Blazek Mesner. She was married May 8, 1930 to Frederick John Behrens who preceded her in death in 1969. Mrs. Behrens was of the Lutheran faith and a member of the Arlington Heights Lions Club for a number of years. Well-known for her zest for life, she was a loving mother to two sons, Frederick John "Fred" (Patricia) Behrens of Columbia and Larry Paul (Marcia) Behrens of Geneva, Illinois; beloved grandmother to Heidi Lehenbauer and Rebecca Behrens Hinton and great-grandmother to Ashley Lehenbauer, David Lehenbauer, and Austin Mitchell. She is also survived by a sister, Molly Markovich of Joliet, Illinois; brother, Anthony R. Mesner of El Paso, Illinois; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
