Anna Papa Buonaiuto

Mrs. Anna Papa Buonaiuto, 92, resident of Columbia, died Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A prayer service will be conducted Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Deacon Price Keller officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4 - 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Mrs. Buonaiuto was born in Maspeth, New York the daughter of the late Stephano Papa and Concetta Marie Cestaro Papa. She was first married to Walter Purvis who preceded her in death and later married Joseph Buonaiuto. She had been employed by American Airlines and retired from Bulova Watch Company. She enjoyed attending activities and services at St. Catherine Catholic Church. Survivors include her daughter, Lucille Ivino of Columbia; grandchildren, Joseph Ivino and Jessica Xavier both of Columbia; sister-in-law, Anna Papa of New Jersey; and step-children, Joseph, Nancy and Rosemary; and several nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her pets, Samantha, Peanut, Heaven, Reign and four cats. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Buonaiuto; four brothers, Joseph Papa, Thomas Papa, Stephen Papa, Lawrence Papa; and seven sisters, Rose Rizzo, Mildred Mazzarella, Palma DeCarro, Maria Wilkinson, Louise Friscia, Theresa Russo and Lucy Papa.
