View Funeral Webcast Anna Ruth Stanfill Jones, 85, former resident of the Zion Community and Gray Circle, died Friday, August 5, 2011 at Life Care of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with John Vaughan, Jeremy Butt, and Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 2:00 p.m. to service time. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late George Howard Stanfill and Nettie Newyear Smith Stanfill. Mrs. Jones was a long-time, faithful member of Graymere Church of Christ. She was married May 17, 1946 to William Clayton "Wimpy" Jones, well-known automobile salesman. Their 63-year marriage ended with his death July 12, 2009. She was a former member of the Zion Community Club, original Maury County Horsemen's Association and Maury County Bridle and Saddle Club. She and Mr. Jones enjoyed square-dancing and playing Rook for many years and she was well-known as a wonderful cook. Survivors include her son, William Boyd Jones of Rock Hill, South Carolina; brothers-in-law, Robert "Bob" McCall and Charles J. Brown, both of Columbia; nieces and nephews, Eddie Harris, Donna Leland, Gail Grissom, Theresa Shouse, George Harris, Phil Dawson, Dennis Satterfield, Gilda Rhodes, Alan McCall, and Paul Michael McCall; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Harris, Archie Lee Dawson, Frances Brown, and Nell McCall. Serving as pallbearers are Jack H. Stanfill, Stanfill Farris, Danny Rochelle, Eddie Harris, George Harris, Phil Dawson, Dennis Satterfield, Alan McCall, and Paul Michael McCall. Honorary pallbearers include Elders and Deacons of Graymere Church of Christ, Jane and Nick Nicholas, Kitty and Bill Chaffin, Twilla and George Brazelton, and Jewell and Charles Smith.
