Miss Annie Margaret Billington, 89, life-long resident of the Pottsville and Rally Hill Communities, died Friday, May 22, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. The family will begin visiting with friends Monday at 9:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. with Tommy Hood officiating. Burial will follow in Shires Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to Old Lasea Church of Christ, Highway 431, Columbia, TN 38401 or Shires Cemetery, c/o Betty Chunn, 4142 Highway 431, Columbia, TN 38401. Born, reared, and educated in the Pottsville and Rally Hill Communities in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Billington and Maggie Chunn Billington. She attended Columbia Central High School and was a life-long member of Old Lasea Church of Christ. As a young lady, she began work as a seamstress at Wargosa Manufacturing Company and later worked for a number of years at Genesco and Teledyne Corporations and retired from Precision Manufacturing Company. Survivors include her sisters, Norma Jean Billington and Wilma "Piddle" Damron of Columbia, Faye (Billy) Greenfield of Nashville, and Avon (Don) Clemons of Lebanon; brothers, Will Fleming Billington and James "Buster" Billington of Columbia; sister-in-law, Margaret Burns Billington of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Wayne Billington and Reuben Billington. Pallbearers are Ricky Damron, Justin Damron, Chance Damron, Scott Liggett, Spencer Pope, Don Clemons, Larry Wayne Billington, and Keith Greenfield. The family expresses special appreciation to Dr. Rand Hayes and Staff for their care and concern during her illness.
