Annie Sue Doyle Nugent, 78, former resident of Carrie Court in Columbia, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Quality Care Health Center in Lebanon. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10:00 A.M. at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Calvin Lunn officiating. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 P.M. Saturday at Civitan Cemetery in Rogersville, Alabama. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Born December 2, 1936 in Cullman, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Rev. James Edward Doyle and the late Allie Belle Williamson Doyle. On June 5, 1955 she married Rev. Samuel Ellis Nugent who preceded her in death July 7, 2003. She was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Columbia. Survivors include her children, Cynthia Ann Nugent (Stephen) Bryant of Cookeville, Samuel Doyle Nugent of Nashville, and Susan Renee Nugent (John) Barnhill of Culleoka; grandchildren, Tabitha Dawn Fox, Michelle Lee Fox, Austin Trey Fox, Andrew Stephen Bryant, Carrie LeighAnn Bryant; great grandchildren, Blaine Baker, Savannah Baker, Elizabeth Baker, Cashlee Grace Fox; and sister-in-law, Esther Pearl Nugent. She was preceded in death by one sister-in-law, Margaret Nell Nugent. Active pallbearers will be Stephen Bryant, Andrew Bryant, Carrie Bryant, John Barnhill, Todd Stutts, Jana Smith, and Lynn Dabney. Honorary pallbearers will include members of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church Choir.
