View Video Tribute Audrey Mai Sharp Lovett, age 84, died May 31, 2015, at NHC Hillview after an extended illness. She was married for 51 years to Louis Alton Lovett, who preceded her in death in May 2001. She was the daughter of the late John Hade Sharp and Curtie Mai Wright Sharp. A Maury County native, she was born on Nov 2, 1930. She was a 1948 graduate of Columbia Central High School. She was employed as a receptionist by the Columbia Pediatric Clinic for many years and did alterations for White/Lowe Cleaners in Lewisburg, where she retired in December 2012. An accomplished seamstress, she enjoyed quilting and creating custom clothing. In addition, she had a large garden for many years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Cornersville, Tennessee, and Dot Lee's Sunday School class. Honoring her husband's military service, she was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. A dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family very much, she will be deeply missed by three daughters, Connie (Ron) Neal of Columbia, Beverly (Ken) Horner of Columbia, and Sharon (Tim) Nolen of Kingsport, TN; grandchildren, David (Leslie) Hudson, Jaye (Andrew) Buckle, Emily Rash, Sam Nolen, Abby Nolen, Stacy Jernigan, Jeb (Cathy) Neal, Mary Leslie (Heath) Racine, Emily (Justin) Edmison; great-grandchildren, Daniel Hudson, Shelby Hudson, Graham Buckle, Owen Buckle, Jeremiah Jernigan, Colton Edmison, Kaleigh Racine, Sidney Edmison, and Camden Neal. Other survivors include her sister, Madge Jennings of Murfreesboro; brother, Dr. Harry Sharp of Memphis; sisters-in-law Edith Sharp, Evelyn Lovett, Martha Osborne, Shirley (Charles) Rankin, June (Tom) Bills, Angie (Valton) Martin; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, John Mahlon Sharp and Grady Sharp; and nephew, John Sharp. Visitation will be Thursday, June 4, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Friday, June 5, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Rev. Tony Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery.
