View Funeral Webcast Mrs. Barbara Marie "Barb" Spedoske Dougherty, 61, resident of Old State Road in Hampshire, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Rock Jaggers officiating. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to The March of Dimes, 1101 Kermit Drive, Suite 201, Nashville, TN 37217. Condolences may be made to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born in Lansing, Michigan she was the daughter of the late Franklin James Spedoske and Genevieve Wygant Spedoske. She was employed by the State of Michigan in the Disabled Children Department and Child Development Division. She did private home sitting for mentally disabled children in Michigan and Tennessee and was also a baby sitter. She was a member of Al-Anon of Cumberland Heights in Nashville. Barb loved her grandchildren and the time she spent cooking, baking, scrapbooking and jewelry making. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Michigan. Survivors include her husband of thirty-eight years, DeWayne Carl Dougherty of Hampshire; daughters, Jennifer Marie Dougherty of Columbia, Deborah Ann (John) Abel of Martin, Kathy Irene (Buddy) McKennon of Summertown; grandchildren, Jackson Abel, Peyton Abel, McKenzie McKennon and Kallianne McKennon; brothers and sisters, Gary Spedoske of Troy, Michigan, Ron Spedoske of Lansing, Michigan, Kathy Mills of Mulliken, Michigan, David Spedoske of Sparta, Michigan, Mary Fox of Lansing, Michigan, Larry Spedoske of DeWitt, Michigan, Doug Spedoske of Pleasant Lake, Michigan and Lori Fox of Lansing, Michigan.
