View Video Tribute Barbara Hill Edwards, 82, homemaker and resident of Sunset Lane, died Sunday, October 28, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Tommy Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be extended at oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Arthur Roy Hill and Edna Richardson Hill. She was a member of Theta Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Marvin "Sammie" Edwards, Sr., whom she married November 26, 1947; daughter, Linda (Bobby) Harmon of Columbia; son, Marvin (Andrea) Edwards, Jr. of Columbia; sister, Martha Hill Lentz of Columbia; brother, James Hill of Columbia; grandchildren, Ben (Kerri) Harmon, Josh Edwards, Erin Edwards, and Kyle Edwards; great-grandchildren, Annyston Harmon and Alexis Rittenberry; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, James Roy Edwards; grandson, Chris Sprinkle; sisters-in-law, Katherine Nevles and Sandra Hill; and brothers-in-law, Albert Lentz, Harold Sparkman, and Robert Edwards. The family wishes to express appreciation to Brenda Malugin and Lori Adams of CARIS Hospice for their kindness during her illness. Serving as active pallbearers are Ben Harmon, Josh Edwards, Kyle Edwards, Jeff Hill, Michael Lentz, Ronnie Sparkman, Eddie Sparkman, and Jason Edwards. Honorary pallbearers include the congregation of Theta Baptist Church.
