Barbara Ellen McEwen Perry, 71, former owner of Perry Industrial, died Monday, January 20, 2014 at her residence in Columbia. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Birmingham, Alabama with Rev. Aaron Raulerson officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home in Columbia, TN and Thursday from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home in Birmingham, AL. The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 1864, Columbia, TN 38402. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Birmingham, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late W. G. McEwen and Sara Nations McEwen. She was a graduate of Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, Alabama and earned her Bachelor's Degree from Alabama College. She was a former member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Decatur, Alabama, where she was a longtime member of the Altar Guild and a Sunday School teacher, and more recently a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church. Survivors include her husband whom she married June 12, 1965, Frank K. Perry of Columbia; and daughter and son-in-law, Lisa & Eric Saxe of Spring Hill. Pallbearers will be Steve Perry, Jeff Perry, Scott Perry, Jake Perry, George Nations, and Greg Perry.
