View Funeral Webcast Owen Beford Lochridge, 93, retired office manager for the Tennessee Department of Employment Security, died Monday, February 6, 2012 at is residence. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at St. Peter's Episcopal Church with The Reverend Richard Zalesak and The Reverend Thomas Wilson officiating. There will be a private family interment at St. John's Episcopal Churchyard. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols and after 1:00 p.m. Friday in St. Peter's Parish Hall. The Maury County native was the son of the late Walter Bedford Lochridge and Nell Cassidy Lochridge and a 1938 graduate of Columbia Central High School. At the outbreak of World War II, he entered the U. S. Army and during his service, including India and Burma, attained the rank of Lieutenant. After the war, he entered the National Guard, attained the rank of Captain, and helped organize the 171st Tank Battalion in 1947. Mr. Lochridge was a devoted member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church with the longest number of years as a communicant, and served as Junior Warden and Senior Warden of the Vestry a number of times. Active in civic and community affairs, he was one of the founders of the Mayfield-Gray Chapter of the Tennessee Ornithological Society, a member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19, and an active supporter and volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Survivors include his wife, Anne Roach Lochridge, whom he married November 26, 1948; children, Mary Anne (Tommy) Guschke of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, James Bedford Lochridge of Columbia, Nancy Carol Lochridge of Nashville; grandchildren, Gretchen Guschke of Providence, Rhode Island and Dio Lochridge of Miami, Florida; nephews, Don Willoughby of Mt. Juliet, Lee (Jean) Owen of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Mark (Pat) Owen of Soldotna, Alaska. Active pallbearers are Dan West, George Mitchell, Don Willoughby, Dale Willoughby, Jesse Kvapil, and Greg Martin. Honorary pallbearers include the Old Gents of Graymere, Joe Lancaster, Dr. Joe High, Bill Sanders, Waymon Hickman, Jim Sproul, Alvin Moore, and W. H. Pigg; David Locke, John T.
