Belle S. Knox 90, passed away on February 8, 2015 with her family at her bedside at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church of Lynnville, Tennessee with Dr. Edward Knox officiating. Burial will follow in Lynnwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 10:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. at the church. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Belle was born in Giles County Tennessee on May 29, 1924, the sixth of seven children of Charles and Nora Lee Stockman. She attended Giles County High School playing basketball and softball on the school teams. Later attending nursing school at Columbia, TN, she was a member of the second group of LPNs to be licensed by the state of Tennessee. Belle married Joe Ewing Knox of Lynnville, TN on March 21, 1947 and together they raised a family founded on the word of God. She was active in Bible studies and held interests in many activities with a special enthusiasm for golf, once attaining 2nd place in her age group in the Tennessee state tournament.She leaves her loving memories to her husband Joe, sons and their wives, Rodney (Carolyn), Julian (Maria), Justin (Kiki), eight grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.Belle was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Woodrow and Cecil, and sisters Annie, Myrtle, Bertie, and Loyce.
