View Video TributeView Funeral Service WebcastMrs. Bernice Adams Follis, 86, retired employee of Anderson Brothers & Foster and resident of West 15th St., died Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Hubert Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Caris Healthcare, 1412 Trotwood Ave., Suite 11, Columbia, TN 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Coffee County native was the daughter of the late Felix Wilbur Adams and Maggie Henson Adams. On January 31, 1942 she married Milton Chapman who died in August of 1943 during the World War II amphibious landing on the coast of Italy. On January 2, 1947 she married Albert Eugene Follis who preceded her in death on November 8, 1997. She was a member of Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include a son, Ronald (Debbie) Follis of Columbia; daughter, Linda Chapman Green of Knoxville; brother, Carlos (Betty) Adams of Alabama; three sisters, Mamie Burgess of Columbia, Margaret Anderson of Franklin, Judy Anderson of Mt. Pleasant; three grandchildren, Evelyn Megan Green of Nashville, Angela (Jeremy) Tosh and Brian Keith Follis both of Columbia; and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt Keith Follis and Emma Faith Tosh. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Lovett, Ken Lovett, Allen Lovett, Jerry Howell, Brian Follis, Jeremy Tosh, Ed Anderson, Chad Howell and Gary Broadway.
