Bernice Ray Pearson Sr

Mr. Bernice Ray Pearson, Sr., 86, died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at his residence on Cole Bend Road in Columbia. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 3:30 p.m. at Parkway Cemetery in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of Kosciusko, Mississippi he was the son of the late Horace Pearson and Annie Ethel Chunn Pearson. He was married to Bessie Nell McMullen Pearson who preceded him in death January 12, 1978. Mr. Pearson owned and operated Pearson's Used Auto Parts for forty years. He was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include a daughter, Sherry Pearson (Mike) Wootan of Columbia; grandchildren, Bernice Ray "Trey" (Amanda) Pearson, III of Murfreesboro; Jimmy Jones of Brandon, Mississippi, Jeff Jones of Columbia; great-grandchildren, Bentley Pearson and John-Luke Pearson both of Murfreesboro; brothers, Harlis (Rebecca) Pearson of Kosciusko, Mississippi and Dolphus Pearson of Winter Park, Florida. He was preceded in death by a son, Bernice Ray Pearson, Jr., sister, Inez Denk, and brothers, Milton Pearson, Leon Pearson and Troy Pearson.
