View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Mrs. Berthia E. Westmoreland Morton, 88, homemaker and longtime resident of Dog Creek Road, died Monday, May 21, 2012 at NHC Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Alexander and Rev. Ronnie Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Westmoreland-Byrd Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Terry Westmoreland and Emily Byrd Westmoreland. On June 15, 1940 she married John Louis Morton, Sr. who preceded her in death on August 6, 1996. Mrs. Morton was a member of Elmore Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include daughters, Peggy (Gene) Chancey of Turtle Town; Lynda (Charles) Gober of Antioch; Carolyn Truette and Cathey (Tony) McNabb, both of Primm Springs; sons, John L. (Carla) Morton and Billy Joe (Rita) Morton, both of Primm Springs; Randy (Patricia) Morton of Hendersonville; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; sisters, Eunice Steward and Valerie Burns, both of Santa Fe; Lucille Morton of Nashville; brother, James (Louise) Westmoreland of Nashville. She was preceded in death by two sons, Roy Morton and Roger Morton; five brothers, George Westmoreland; Robert Westmoreland, Ed Westmoreland; T. C. Westmoreland; and William "Dibble" Westmoreland; and grandson, Bruce Truette. Pallbearers will be Jason Dunn, David Bratcher, John Morton, III, Gerald Truette, Scottie West, Matt Walls, Jeff Rodriguez and Ronnie Burns.
