Born on February 10, 1968, in Columbia, Tennessee, Bethany was the beloved daughter of Gayle Norton Secrest and the late Steve Rayburn Secrest. She was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for those she loved. Earlier in her career, she worked for several years at Farm Bureau.
Bethany will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and the unconditional love she shared with her family and friends. She found her greatest joy in being a mother and grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. Whether listening to her favorite music, laughing with friends, or watching hummingbirds gather at the feeders she faithfully kept filled, Bethany appreciated life's simple blessings. Her warm smile, caring nature, and generous heart touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
She is survived by her loving mother, Gayle Norton Secrest of Columbia; her son, Jon (Emily) Hord of Columbia; her daughter, Raelyn Hord of Columbia; her stepdaughters, Jaynie and Jillian; her brother and sister-in-law, Clay, Sr. (Sandra) Secrest of Columbia; her cherished grandchildren, Jack, Ian, Kenley, Zoe, Lizzie, and Anthony; and her nieces and nephew, Megan Fowler, Clayton Secrest, Jr., and Samantha King.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her beloved significant other, Glen Cummings.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jon Hord, Ian Osmon, Zachary Osmon, Pat Hord, Jack Morton, and Clayton Secrest, Jr.
Though her family grieves the loss of a treasured daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, they find comfort in the many precious memories she leaves behind. Bethany's love, kindness, and gentle presence will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
