Bethany Anne Stanley, age 46, passed away peacefully at her home in Raleigh, North Carolina on Monday, April 21, 2014. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey L. Kane officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) - Wake County, P.O. She graduated from Athens Drive High School where she participated in cross country and soccer. In high school she developed her passion for painting and won two statewide competitions. Later Bethany received her Associates Degree in Fine Arts from Brevard College, and also studied art at East Carolina University. Bethany also had a tremendous appreciation for music. She always thought of others and always shared what she had. Bethany is survived by her parents, William and Wilma Stanley of Raleigh; siblings Wright Stanley of Raleigh, and Lisa S. Harhan, her husband Patrick, and their daughter, Rachel A. Harhan, all of Oak Hill, VA. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Elton and Hilda Stanley, and Howard and Elizabeth Turner, all of Columbia, TN.
