View Funeral WebcastMrs. Betty Ann Clayton Combs, 60, resident of Mooresville Pike in the Culleoka Community, died Friday, December 11, 2009 at Williamson Medical Center. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. (CST) at Oakes & Nichols concluding with a prayer service. Graveside services will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. (EST) at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. Born in Hixson in Hamilton County, Tennessee, she was a 1967 graduated of Hixson High School and earned an Associate of Arts degree from Troy State University in Montgomery, Alabama. Mrs. Combs worked as an accountant for a number of years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Doyle F. Combs, Jr. of Culleoka; mother, Lena Marie Varner Clayton of Culleoka; daughter, Amanda (David) Reisen of Columbia; son, Benjamin Matthew Combs of Jacksonville, Florida; brother, Roy (Becky) Clayton of Hixson; grandchildren, Haylee Reisen, Kaycee Reisen, and Averee Reisen, all of Columbia; nephews, Greg Clayton and Kevin Clayton of Hixson. She was preceded in death by her father, Thurman James Clayton.
