View Funeral WebcastBetty Jane Smith Dodson, 57, agent with Guthrie-Love Insurance Company, died Sunday, December 13, 2009 at her residence on Hunter Drive. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Kevin Maxey and Dorris Rader officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Hubert and Edith I. Brock Smith. She was a member of Mooresville Pike Church of Christ. Survivors include her husband, Roger Loyd Dodson, whom she married December 30, 1983; daughter, Becky Easley of Tullahoma; son, Michael Wayne (Stacy) Dodson of Spring Hill; step-daughter, Shannon Denise (Ronnie) Jett of Woodbury; sister, Joan (Doug) Hethcoat of Columbia; brothers, Donald (Linda) Smith, Phillip (Betty) Smith, both of Columbia and Jim Smith of Nashville; life-long friend, Karen Skinner of Columbia; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Brown and brother, Morris Wayne Smith. Pallbearers are Greg Dodson, Jason McDonald, Michael Smith, Harold Richardson, Jr., Cozmin Cazan, Gordon Smith, Shannon Smith, and James Buchanan.
