Betty Hume Rash

Betty Jean Hume Rash, 94, a resident of Columbia, TN died Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at The Bridge.

A Graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Wilkes Cemetery in Culleoka. Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com.

Betty was born on February 23, 1931 to the late Carac Hume and the late Mildred Scott Hume. She graduated from St. Thomas School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1951 and was a part of the original Maury Regional Hospital staff in 1953. Betty became Head Nurse of several different departments. She then worked and retired from Dr. Strickland’s Office. Betty was a member of Graymere Church of Christ for 60 years.

Survivors include her three sons, Marty Rash, David (Lynda) Rash, Steve (Tammy) Rash; grandchildren, Emily (Cory Burnham) Rash, Chris (Emily) Rash, Charlie (Caroline) Rash, Lindsey (Chris) Crum, Andrea Rash; great-grandchildren, Charlotte Rash, John Rakes Rash, Ava Burnham, Kenna Rash, Josephine Rash, Lochlan Rash; sister, Emma Lou Hume.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five years, Charles Rash.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
