View Video TributeMrs. Betty Hendley Vaughn, 78, resident of Lasea Road in Spring Hill, died Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Dr. Dwain Brown and Rev. Richard VanCleave officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1864, Columbia, TN 38402. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Fraser Hendley and Velma Dodson Hendley. She was married to Charles Edward Vaughn, Sr. who preceded her in death May 6, 1986. Mrs. Vaughn was retired from the Maury County Tax Assessor's office.She was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Charles Edward "Eddie" (Marilyn) Vaughn, Jr. of Columbia; daughters, Donna Vaughn (Kent) Younger and Krystal Vaughn (Ronald) Crick both of Spring Hill; grandchildren, Adam (Crystal) Vaughn, Skylar Crick, Keely Crick; great-grandchildren, Andrew Vaughn, Audrey Vaughn; and nephew, Wayne (Jennifer) Hall. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Betty Jo Vaughn; brother, Charles Clifford Hendley; and sister, Martha Ann Hendley Hall. Active pallbearers will be family members, Kent Younger, Ronald Crick, Adam Vaughn, Wayne Hall, Randall Hendley and Ricky Hendley. Honorary pallbearers include past and present employees of the Maury County Tax Assessor's office and deacons of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
