Beulah Shannon Williams, 103, former longtime resident of Highland Avenue and Figures Avenue, died Monday, July 8, 2013 at her residence on General Roberts Drive. A graveside service will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Jim Shannon officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday after 5:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. The family suggests memorials to Churches of Christ Disaster Relief, Inc., 410 Allied Drive, Nashville, TN 37211 or Columbia Academy, 1101 West Seventh Street, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late J. K. Shannon, Sr. and Nora Roan Shannon. She was married to Hugh Arnold Williams who preceded her in death on April 9, 1989. Mrs. Williams was the oldest member of Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughter, Nora (Eddie) Harris of Columbia; granddaughter, Michelle (Robert) Dominguez of Nashville; great grandson, Bo Dominguez of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Shelby Shannon, Ernest Shannon, J. K. Shannon, Jr.; five sisters, Hollie Shannon, Bessie Hood, Estelle Fox, Mildred McMinnis, Pearl Gibson; half-sister, Madie Ferguerson and half-brother, Charlie Shannon.
