View Funeral Webcast Billie Jean Oliver Sutton, 82, former resident of Gray Circle and retired supervisor for Storktown USA, died Monday, September 26, 2011 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Wayne B. Hardison officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The Davidson County native was the daughter of the late Edward Carter Oliver and Mary Lou Lovell Oliver. She was a member of Northview Church of Christ. She was also a member of American Legion Auxiliary Chapter 19 and former President of the Lady Elks of Columbia Elks Lodge. Her husband, Raymond Sutton, whom she married May 8, 1971, died June 15, 1998. Survivors include a step-daughter, Patsy Ruth Barlar of Annapolis, Maryland; step-grandchildren, Teresa Barlar of Jacksonville, Florida and Jeff Barlar of Annapolis, Maryland; several step-great-grandchildren; and devoted and dedicated friend, Dorothy Jean Witherow of Columbia. She was preceded in death by sisters, Alla Mae Leathers and Theresa Haney Active pallbearers are Paul Waller, Jerry Cook, Randy Speed, Ricky Luna, Frank McMeen, and Monroe Lovell. Honorary pallbearers include Columbia Elks Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary Chapter 19, Elders of Northview Church of Christ, Staff of NHC Hillview, Faye Hartsfield, and Ann Fox Bryant.
