Mrs. Billie Jean Rollins Poe, 88, passed away on November 30, 2021 at the Alive Hospice Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee due to complications from dementia. She was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. Her main occupation was as a housewife and mother. She worked as a Patrol Officer at Walter Stokes School in Nashville during the mid-60’s, was head of their PTA and a den leader for the boy scouts. She loved history, traveling, reading, and going on drives on Middle Tennessee roads. Mrs. Poe was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Kathleen McDonald and her husband, Eugene L. Poe, Sr. She is survived by her four children, Eugene Poe Jr. (Elizabeth), Cathy Mathis, Michael Poe (Patty), and Christy Parham (Mike). She also has five grandchildren, Christan, Mary Lane, Evan, Alex, and Austin and great grandson, Chris Jr. Mrs. Poe will be laid to rest Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery after a family graveside service. Flowers may be sent to Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home 320 West 7th Street Columbia, Tennessee 38401.
