Billy Ray Palmer, 42, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at his residence on Dry Weakley Road in Ethridge. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Jason Love officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The Maury County native was the son of William Ray Palmer and Shirley Ann Williams Palmer of Ethridge. He was a 1986 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School and attended Columbia State Community College. Mr. Palmer enjoyed fishing, collecting coins and knives, eating out with his family and spending time with his church family. He was a member of Voice of Victory Temple. In addition to his parents he is survived by two sisters Sharon Ann (Randy) Tosh of Culleoka, Sarah Caitlin Palmer of Ethridge; brother James Edward (Heather) Palmer of Ethridge; nephews Dillon Palmer, Nathan Tosh, Ryan Tosh; niece Bridgett Nicole Palmer; and close friend Brandon Clay Moss. Pallbearers will be Brandon Clay Moss, James Smith, Bobby Moore, David Riley, Mike Perrin and Mac Palmer. Honorary pallbearers include employees of JRN and members of Voice of Victory Temple.
