Mr. Bobby Gene King, 72, a resident of Sims Road in Culleoka, died Sunday, September 19, 2021 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. King will be conducted Friday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Morton Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends from 12:00 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born December 24, 1948, he was the son of the late James Ben King and the late Julia Jewel Morton King. He served in the United States Army for ten years, serving in the Vietnam and Korean Wars. On December 28, 1977 he married Millie Dianne Stewart King who preceded him in death on August 5, 2011. Mr. King worked for McGee’s Mobile Homes where he was a welder and electrician. He enjoyed playing the fiddle. Mr. King attended Locust Street Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant. Survivors include his son, James Benjamin “Benji” King (Marissa Cobb) of Culleoka; daughter, Kelly Holder of Hohenwald; grandchildren, Michael Prince, Santana Larue and Lydia King (Quentin Tibetts); several great-grandchildren including, Kai Benjamin Tibetts; brother, Ricky King of Santa Fe; sister-in-laws, Betty Jane King and Frances King; several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Harold Ray King Ralph King, Benny King, Marvin King, Wilburn King, and Paul King and sister, Barbara Ann McGaw. Pallbearers will be Benji King, Quentin Tibbetts, William Cobb, Chris Kelley, James Herschel King, and Fabian King. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sergeant Major Alvin Lee Baker and Sergeant Robert W. Brickey.
