Bobbye Elaine Pinkston Robinson, 83, retired Executive Director of Columbia Housing Authority, died Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Born August 3, 1931 in Marshall County, she was the first of two children born to the late Walter Ewing Pinkston and Dovie Florine Harris Pinkston. On March 17, 1951 she married Earnest Howard Robinson who preceded her in death on September 1, 2011. The 1949 graduate of Columbia Central High School retired January 31, 1994 after thirty years of service with the Columbia Housing Authority. She enjoyed traveling and boating with her family. She played cards and had dinner with the same friends, known as the Mule Town Rookies, for over fifty years. A member of Maury Regional Auxiliary, she logged many hours in the Dietary Department working with the Hospitality Plus Program. Mrs. Robinson was a member of the Maury County James K. Polk Society, the Tenassee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, APTA, and a former Jaycette for several years. She was a charter member of Graymere Church of Christ. She enjoyed engaging in church activities and working with the Clothes Closet for several years. Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda Robinson Long of Columbia; son, Walter H. "Walt" (Paulette) Robinson of Columbia; grandchildren, Natalie (Brad) Hopkins of Murfreesboro, Elizabeth (Barry) Carroll and Stacey Long, both of Columbia; great grandchildren, Mya Hopkins, Evan Hopkins, and Christian Carroll; sister, Sara (Shelby) Carpenter; niece, Claire (Tommy) Vann and nephew, David (Diane) Carpenter. Active pallbearers will be Scott Vann, Hunter Vann, Shelby Carpenter, Spencer Carpenter, David Carpenter, and Ken Robinson. Honorary pallbearers include Glenn Ferrell, Robert Waddell, K. L.
