View Funeral WebcastMrs. Bonnie Strong Langsdon, 79, widow of J.K. Langsdon, Jr. and resident of Spainwood Street, died Friday, December 6, 2013 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Graymere Church of Christ with Jerry Hill and Taft Ayers officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends at the church on Sunday from 1 - 4:00 p.m. and Monday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the church. The family suggests memorials to Timothy Hill Children's Ranch, 298 Middle Road, Riverhead, New York 11901. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Clay County native was the daughter of the late Barlow F. Strong and Rose Ella McBride Strong. On September 3, 1955 she married John Kinnard "J.K." Langsdon, Jr. who preceded her in death July 17, 2003. Mrs. Langsdon was involved in the Graymere Tuesday - Thursday Pre-School program for many years. She was a member of Graymere Church of Christ and Wanda Robinson's Sunday School Class. Survivors include her daughters, Valerie (Randall) Wilson of Columbia, Rosemarie Overstreet of Phenix City, Alabama; sons, John Kinnard (Melissa) Langsdon, III of Columbia, and Joseph (Maria) Langsdon of Brentwood; grandchildren, Meleia Wilson (Taft) Ayers, Mark (Sarah) Wilson, Suzanne Wilson (Jeff) Gillis, John Langsdon Overstreet, Rebecca Overstreet, Paul Overstreet, John Kinnard "Jake" Langsdon, IV, Andrew (Emily) Langsdon, Margaret Langsdon (Shane) Polivka, William Langsdon, Abigail Langsdon, Meliz Yilmaz, Sezen Yilmaz; great grandchildren, Wyatt Ayers, Marley Ayers and Brantley Gillis; nieces, loved as sisters, Betty (Glen) Stewart, Ruby (Gene) Smith, Jo Nell (Roy) McLerran; great-nieces and nephew, Benet Stewart (Tim) Theiss, Rachel Stewart (Butch) Patton, Brian (Samantha) McLerran, Amy McLerran (Jason) Dodson; great-great nieces and nephews, Corey, Elizabeth and Cothron Theiss, Ella, Brianna and Cordell McLerran, Will Dodson and Max and Mary-Glen Patton. She was preceded in death by a son, James David "Jimmy" Langsdon on May 22, 2013. Grandsons and Grandsons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
