View Funeral WebcastBrother Oliver W. "Daddy O" Pantall, 92 , well-known Church of Christ minister, died Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Grace Health Care in Franklin. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson Station Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Williamson Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols and Saturday two hours prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Fund, 410 Allied Drive, Nashville 37211 or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis 38105. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com.Born and reared in Williamson County, he was the son of the late Howard Pantall and Floy Henderson Pantall. He served a stint in the U. S. Navy and was discharged in 1937.He was employed at Union Carbide Corporation in the West graphite department and retired with 30 years service. He was a farmer and long-time resident of Mooresville Pike and avid gardener. Brother Pantall preached for over 50 years and served congregations at Mooresville Pike, Shoals Branch, Berea, Water Valley and Thompson Station Churches of Christ. He held countless gospel meetings and was well-known for his visits to nursing homes, homebound families, and those in need. His entire life was dedicated to the Lord and His work and he was beloved as a good and faithful servant. He is survived by wife of 71 years, Bertie Bolton Pantall of Columbia; daughter, Sara Hood of Franklin; sons, Jimmy (Linda) Pantall of Columbia, Steve (Mary Jo) Pantall, and Phil (Claire) Pantall, all of Franklin,; sister, Jean Hargrove of Franklin; brothers, Ralph (Jean) Pantall of Jackson, Mississippi and Roy Pantall of Columbia; grandchildren, Paula (Sterling) Marlin, David (Deanna) Hood, Todd (Kim) Pantall, Scott (Paige) Pantall, Chad Pantall, Shane (Kacy) Pantall, Jon (Jenny) Hood, Stephanie (Tim) Dockstader, and Grayson Pantall; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great -grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by son in-law, Paul M. Hood; and grandson, Timothy E. Hood.Grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include the congregations of Thompson Station Church of Christ and Fowlkes Street Church of Christ.The family expresses deep appreciation to the staff at Grace Health Care for their care and concern during his illness.
