View Funeral Webcast Ella Brownie Stanfill Cheatham, 94, resident of West Avenue, died Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Matt Yuhas and Randy Short officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. A native of the Kettle Mills Community in Maury County, she was a daughter of the late Willie Augustus Stanfill and Callie Olivia Smith Stanfill. After graduating from high school, she worked for several years as a seamstress at Tennessee Knitting Mills. She was a long-time member of Sharp's Corner Church of Christ. She was the widow of Harry P. Cheatham, whom she married in 1946. Survivors include a brother, Jack (Betty) Stanfill of Mt. Juliet; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and a special friend, Wayne Jenkins of Mississippi. She was preceded in death by sisters, Nora B. Lindsey, Clara Walls, Tommie Stanfill, and GeorgeAnn Thurman; and brothers, J. D. Stanfill and Whitey Stanfill. Nephews will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include the congregation of Sharp's Corner Church of Christ.
