View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Lesley Buford Poteete, 77, retired diesel mechanic for M. C. West Construction and General Trucking Company, died Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Signature Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Brian Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Williamson County native was the son of the late Willie West Poteete and Bertha Bennett Poteete. He was a long-time member of Eastside Church of Christ. Survivors include daughters, Kaye Poteete(Jeff) Carroll of Columbia, Mildred Annette Poteete (Ray) McCord of Lewisburg, and Linda Ann M. Pinkleton Knox of Columbia; brother, Jason Poteete of Scottsboro, Alabama; grandchildren, Tammi Thompson, Terri Dickens, Michael Orr, Benjamin David Pinkleton; Shannon Michelle McCord, Jason Ray McCord, Amanda Deanna McCord, and John Thomas McCord; fourteen great-grandchildren. His wife, Lenora Norman Poteete, died January 9, 2003. He was also preceded in death by sons, Larry Pinkleton and Michael Pinkleton; sisters, Nellie Veach and Annie Lou Haskins; brothers, John L. Poteete, Thomas Poteete, Walter Poteete, and Emory Poteete. Pallbearers are Dale Huckaby, Ray Green, James Hoil Walker, Gene Seagraves, Larry Petty, Jason McCord, and Ray McCord.
