Carey Warren Hight

At the age of 50, Carey Warren Hight, surrounded by her family, peacefully finished her earthly journey and was united with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Carey was the beloved wife of Christopher Eugene Hight, and the devoted mother to Bryant (Abby) Pratt, Sarah Elizabeth Hight, and Caroline Grace Hight, and an adoring Lovie to her granddaughters, Emerson Jane Pratt and Ella Claire Pratt.

She is preceded in death by her father Tandy Darrell Warren.

Carey’s family was her greatest joy and life's purpose. She loved fiercely, protected relentlessly, prayed faithfully, and celebrated every accomplishment, milestone, and moment in the lives of those she cherished. Nothing made her prouder than watching her children grow into the wonderful people and followers of Christ they became.

Carey shared an extraordinary bond with her sister, Gretchen Warren Forrest. Though separated by only fifteen months in age, they shared a closeness few people are blessed to experience. They were sisters, best friends, and lifelong companions throughout every season of life. Carey was a protector, encourager, and second mother, and the love they shared was one of the greatest blessings of both their lives.

Carey also shared a special bond with her cherished nieces, Lola Forrest and Gracen Hight Alexander. She loved Lola and Gracen and celebrated every milestone, accomplishment, and joy in their life with the same fierce devotion that defined every part of who she was.

Carey was known for her giving heart, strong spirit, quick wit, and ability to make everyone feel welcomed and loved. She never met a stranger, and if you were fortunate enough to be loved by Carey, you never had to wonder where you stood.

More than anything, Carey believed life's greatest treasures were never things, but people. She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, sister, many nieces and nephews, family, and friends with her whole heart, and they loved her just as fiercely in return.

Her passing leaves an immeasurable void in the lives of those who loved her most. She was the heart of so many family gatherings, the voice on the other end of the phone, the protector, encourager, and safe place for us all. While her absence leaves us heartbroken, we are forever grateful for the gift of having been loved by her. The memories she created, the faith she shared, and the example she set will continue to guide her family for generations to come.

The family will hold a private burial for Carey on Friday, September 11, 2026. In true Carey fashion, she would want one final opportunity to bring together the family and friends she loved so dearly. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Columbia Academy Vest Hall multipurpose room. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with a service beginning at 6:00 p.m. Food will be available during the visitation as family and friends gather to share memories, fellowship, and celebrate a life well lived and deeply loved.
