Carl Edward Woodall, 88, died Sunday, January 18, 2026 at his residence in Columbia.
A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, January 22, 2025 at 2:30 PM at Santa Fe Cemetery with Sammy Walters officiating. Military honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

Carl was born on August 7, 1937 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Marion C. Woodall and the late Frances Haywood Woodall Fraser. He graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1955 and served eight years in the United States Air Force. Carl retired after 28 years as an air traffic controller with the FAA as a civilian at Ft. Campbell Air Force Base. He enjoyed fishing, sports cars, and riding motorcycles all over the United States, Canada and even to Alaska. His greatest joy came from his family that he loved very much.
Survivors include his son and daughter in law, James Carlton Woodall and Lori Lynn Weaver Woodall of Columbia; four grandchildren, James Ryan (Kassandra) Woodall, Jeanna Kay Woodall Carpenter, Amanda Ann (Will) Woodall Birkel, and Edward Jackson Woodall; nephew Neal (Tammy) Woodall; and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother James Christopher Woodall and his step father Murphy Fraser.
Pallbearers will be James Woodall, Sammy Walters, Edward Jackson Woodall, James Ryan Woodall, and Will Birkel.
