Carolyn Greene

Carolyn Lentz Greene, 97, retired sales associate with Parks Belk for over thirty years and resident of Bullock Street, died Friday, January 9, 2015 at Life Care Center of Columbia. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Polk Memorial Gardens with Rev. Rick Elsey officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 - 12:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born May 4, 1917 in Trinity, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Asa M. Lentz and Bertha Compton Lentz. She was married to Harry V. Greene who preceded her in death in 1970. She was a graduate of Decatur High School in Decatur, Alabama. Mrs. Greene was a charter member of West End Baptist Church. Survivors include her daughters, Patricia G. Gayden of Nashville; Jade G. (Terry) Anderson of Columbia; Harriette G. Skinner of Nashville; six grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. Her family will serve as pallbearers.
