Carolyn Eugenia Chambers Cromer Nance, 82, a longtime resident of Columbia, died Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, October 23, 2025 at 3:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Dr. Marty Shadoan and Rev. Rick Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.

Carolyn was born on April 27, 1943 in Kentucky to the late Marshall Q. Chambers and the late Lois Jones Chambers. She graduated from Marshall County High School in 1961 and for several years she worked part time at Maury Regional Medical Center in the pharmacy department. Carolyn was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother that enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, reading and flower gardening. She was a member of Columbia First Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband Larry Nance whom she married on September 18, 2017; two sons, Jeff (Betsy) Cromer and Joey (Ruth) Cromer both of Columbia; four grandchildren, Ashley Derryberry, Autumn Cromer, Katie Cromer and Carey Cromer; two great grandchildren, Zaiden Cochran and Maddie Derryberry; three step children, Chris Nance, Jennifer (Aaron) Vannasse and Renee (Greg) Vernon; eight step grandchildren including Zac (Lauren) Walker and Kacy (Cody) Maurer; five step great grandchildren including Max Walker, Finn Walker, Malone Maurer and Mabry Maurer.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband Bernie W. Cromer on March 9, 2008 and grandson in-law Chad Derryberry.

Pallbearers will be Billy Cromer, Ed Cromer, Tom King, Jackie Cooper, Sid White, and Zaiden Cochran. The family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to the staff of NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care for the excellent care they provided.
