Carolyn was born in Columbia, TN to the late Clarence Norman and the late Virginia Medkiff Norman on December 10, 1942. She attended Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and then worked at DuPont in Old Hickory, TN and Union Carbide in Columbia. Her last job, of 11 years, and the one she loved so much, was caring for the facilities at West 7th Church of Christ. She took great pride in keeping the facilities clean and she was known for making great coffee for all of the Sunday school classes.
Carolyn had such a giving spirit and was a caregiver by nature. She cared for her aunt, her mother, her dad, sister and others who employed her services and then also became her friends. Carolyn enjoyed her life with her family, she enjoyed going out to eat, watching old movies and she loved cheering on her Tennessee Volunteers.
Survivors include her brother, Ronnie (Martha) Norman; daughter, Robin Rush; granddaughter, Regan Edwards; aunts, JoAnne McKee and Martha Norman; nephews, Scotty (Tammy) Lee, Gregg (Amy) Lee, and Ryan (Kathryn) Norman; nieces, Sherri (Kenny) Lester, and Mary Beth Davis (Ryan); and many great nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Lee, Gregg Lee, Kenny Lester, Dallas Groves, Rickey Savage, Ryan Schmidt, Tyler Sells, Tyler Clendenin, and Ryan Davis.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Gail Lee.
The family of Carolyn wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the staff at The Gardens of Poplar Estates and Gentiva Hospice who cared for her so lovingly.
