Catherine Lemay Lindsey, 88, homemaker, died Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at her residence in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Terry Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Born January 20, 1935, in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late Jessie Hubbard Lemay and the late Elizabeth Holder Lemay. On February 18, 1951, she married Horace Richard “Dick” Lindsey, Sr. who preceded her in death April 16, 2004. Earlier in life, she was a seamstress, Tupperware dealer, and worked at Kroger’s in the deli and setting up food sample demonstrations. Mrs. Lindsey loved to work in her yard, growing flowers, her koi pond, cross stitching, and quilting. She was a member of Locust Street Church of Christ.

Survivors include her daughter, Cathey (Joel) Kennedy of Mt. Pleasant; son, Richard (Diane) Lindsey, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; sister, Margie Fautt of Columbia; grandchildren, Anthony (Rachel) Lindsey of Mt. Pleasant; Mary Beth (Brian) Lovett of Mt. Pleasant; great grandchildren, Mary Catherine Lovett of Mt. Pleasant; Jason Edward Lovett of Mt. Pleasant; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, John Lee Kennedy; and brothers, Jesse James Lemay, Vander Lemay and Chester Lemay.

Active pallbearers will be Ashtin Lacy, Preston Lacy, Stephen Brooks, Rusty Colvett, Heath McKnight, and Brian Lovett.
