Catherine Humphrey Wright, 91, formerly of Homer, Illinois passed away at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the home of her daughter Deline Dendy surrounded by family in Columbia where she resided for the last 4 years.Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at University Place Christian Church, 403 S. Wright St., Champaign, Illinois. Rev. Brittany Barber will officiate. Burial will be private. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Morgan Memorial Home, 1304 Regency Dr. West, Savoy, Illinois. Memorial contributions may be made to University Place Christian Church, 403 South Wright Street, Champaign, Illinois. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home is assisting the family with local arrangements and notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com.Catherine was born October 6, 1920 in Hanover Twp, Ohio, a daughter of Frank and Floie Emma Amon Humphrey. She married Roy L. Wright on May 22, 1942. He passed away March 6, 1996. Catherine was a bookkeeper at University Place Christian Church for 20 years where she was a member. She was a seamstress and quilt maker.Her great-grandkids affectionately called her GG. Survivors include; daughters, Dawn Wright, Homer, IL ,Diane (John) Anto, Park Ridge, IL, Deline (Joe) Dendy, Columbia, TN; sons, Keith (Linda) Wright, New Fairfield, CT, Kevin (Kristie) Wright, Homer, IL, Ed Dulaney, Wheaton, IL; 15 grandchildren, Holly (David) Miller, Chad (Sue) Wooten, Jon (Chrissy) Anto, Michael Anto, Laura (Rusty) Welch, Greg Dulaney, Megan Jarboe, Molly Dendy, Abby Dendy, Ashley (Jeff Barnes) Dendy, Toby Wright, Cori Wright, Haley (Ryan) Frerichs, Sarah (Shaun) Chesnut, Drew ( Margaret) Wright; 10 great-grandchildren, Rachel Miller, Jake Anto, Paul Anto, Caytee Welch, Rhett Welch, Meleah Amos, Cade Dendy, Kennedy Dendy, Violet Chesnut, Faith Chesnut. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Denise Dulaney, one brother and two sisters.
