View Video TributeView Funeral WebcastCathy Diane Chumley Blade, 54, died Monday, July 21, 2014 at her residence on Pleasant Wood in Mt. Pleasant. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Ricky Cotton officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of Joyce Gwendlyn Palmer Chumley of Okeechobee, Florida and the late Herbert Howard "Tuck" Chumley. On August 4, 1989 she married William Hubert Blade, Jr. who preceded her in death June 10, 2004. Mrs. Blade had been employed by the Maury County Board of Education as a cafeteria worker. She enjoyed life and loved her grandchildren. She was a member of Cross Bridges Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to her mother include her daughter, Christina Saum of Columbia, her son, Jeff (Courtney) Saum of Columbia; brothers, Lee Chumley of Columbia, J.W. Cotton of Okeechobee, Florida; and grandchildren, Tyler Saum, Dakota Saum, Hunter Garner, Kaylee Garner and Aiden Saum. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Rayford Cotton and Jimmy Cotton.
