Charles B. Griggs, Sr., 92, self-employed window cleaner and resident of Kedron Road in Spring Hill, died Friday, December 6, 2013 at Tennessee Valley Healthcare System in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols with James Edwards officiating. Military honors will be provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Nashville. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The Davidson County native was the son of the late Henry Griggs and Sally Pope Griggs. He was married to Mary Frances Martin Griggs who preceded him in death on November 6, 2000. Mr. Griggs served in the U. S. Army. Survivors include two daughters, Darlene (Wally) Cathey of Lebanon and Romona Griggs of Kingston Springs; three sons, Charles (Patricia) Griggs, Jr. of Pleasantview, Harry (Brenda) Griggs of Madison, and Joseph Griggs of Columbia; five grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
