Charles Edward “Eddie” Vaughn, Jr., 72, passed peacefully Monday, September 28, 2026, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 5, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bro. Frank Webb officiating. Burial will follow in Rock Springs Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Monday from 1:00 P.M. until the service at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home.
Eddie was born October 12, 1953 at King’s Daughters Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee, to the late Charles Edward Vaughn, Sr. and Betty Dodson Hendley Vaughn. He graduated from Columbia Central High School in 1971 and was a custom contractor for 31 years, building beautiful homes throughout the area. He later owned and operated Bucky’s Restaurant for 19 years before selling the business in 2021.
Eddie loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Rock Springs Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a deacon. He was a devoted husband, father, and “Papa” who cherished his family and the time they shared together. He and Marilyn traveled to 49 states, the Canadian Rockies and several Canadian Provinces.
On December 16, 1972, he married Marilyn Sharp Vaughn, and they shared 53 years of marriage together.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Sharp Vaughn of Spring Hill; son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Crystal Vaughn of Columbia; grandchildren, Andrew Reagan Vaughn and Audrey Elise Vaughn; two sisters, Donna (Kent) Younger and Krystal Crick; and brother-in-law, Mark (Teresa) Sharp.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his aunt, Martha Hendley Hall, and her husband, Jim; and an infant sister, Betty Jo Vaughn.
Pallbearers will be Ron Davidson, Andrew Vaughn, Terry Wrather, Mark Sharp, Kent Younger, and Jason Brewer. Honorary pallbearers will be Buddy Tomlin, Duran Shults, Keith Jennings, Ron Neal, Robin Howell, and the Deacons of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
