View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast Charlie Gilbert Richardson, 72, retired from the U.S. Postal Service, died Monday, June 25, 2012 at his residence on Harris St. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Allan Pogue officiating. Burial will follow in Hudgens Cemetery in Fairview with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Williamson County native was the son of the late Houston Richardson and Mary Jane Stinson Richardson. He was a 1959 graduate of Columbia Central High School and served in the United States Navy. Survivors include his sister, Mildred Reese of Spring Hill; nieces and nephews, Scott Reese of Columbia, Debbie Parks of Spring Hill, Tommy McDonald of Dickson, Jimmy Anderson of Columbia, Lee Ann Malugin of Cookeville; several great nieces and great nephews; and longtime friends, Don Renfro, Patricia Renfro King, Jon and Lisa King and sons Max and Harry King, Jean and Clinton Damron, Jimmy and Sharon Damron, Sheryl and Phil Sellers, and James and Claire Sellers all of Columbia. He was preceded in death by brothers, Eugene Richardson and Othel Richardson and a sister, Hildred Smith. Active pallbearers will be Frank Church, John Brown, Loyd Witherspoon, Jimmy Dodson, Tommy Dooley, Bobby Berry, Charles Pigg and James Paul Gary. Honorary pallbearers include Scott Reese, Jimmy Anderson, William Parks, June Caperton, Bryan and Diane Reesor and Esther Gowder.
