Mrs. Mary Charlotte Baker Rummage, 84, resident of Hampshire Pike, died Monday, October 13, 2014 at Life Care Center of Columbia. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Ezell Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the charity of your choice. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born November 30, 1929 in the Williamsport Community of Maury County, she was the daughter of the late William "Bill" M. Baker and Loucille King Baker. Mrs. Rummage was an excellent cook and enjoyed growing flowers. Survivors include her husband whom she married December 17, 1949, Elmer Rummage of Columbia; daughter, Laura Rummage Rummage of Columbia; sons, Lee (Pam) Rummage and Gene (Phylis) Rummage, both of Columbia; brothers, Tom Baker and James "Sam" (Marty) Baker both of Columbia; Bobby (Martha) Baker of Pulaski; sisters, Shirley (Randall) Wright of Columbia; Helen (Thomas) Malugin of Primm Springs; sister-in-law, Anne Baker of Leoma; grandchildren, Nelia Lynne (Tim) Gibson, William Glynne Rummage, II, Matthew Lee Rummage, Michael Taylor Rummage, Megan Kate Rummage, and Shelby Lynn Rummage, all of Columbia; Cristan (Eric) Bolens of Sevierville; great grandchildren, Kelsey Lyne Gibson and Korbin Leighton Gibson, both of Columbia, Tegan Roundy and Harrison Bolens, both of Sevierville; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant brother "Little Joe" Baker, brother Robert Leonard Baker, sister-in-law Betty Baker, niece Pamela Gay Baker, nephew Danny Thomas Baker, and son-in-law Billy Glynne Rummage. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, Glynne Rummage, Matt Rummage, Taylor Rummage, and nephews, Leonard "Rusty" Baker, Chris Baker, Jeff Baker and Jason Malugin. Honorary pallbearers include Lynn and David Greene, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Lancaster, Mrs. Bernice Lawson, Mrs. Lucy Guthrie, Ms. Brenda Guthrie, Mrs. Polly Stanton, Mrs. Mary Clark, Mrs. Vicky Vincent, Richard Smith and Gary Joe King. The family would also like to express a special thanks to Margie Watkins of Life Care Center for service above and beyond her duty and all other staff members for the loving care and support to our entire family during this difficult time in our lives.
